Anlässlich des 300. Todestages von Maria Sibylla Merian

plant das Kurator_innenkollektiv eine Ausstellung zum Thema „Wandle Dich“. Dabei soll das inspirierende Lebenswerk der freischaffenden Forschungsreisenden als Impuls für künstlerische Prozesse dienen. 5 Künstler*innen zeigen in Anlehnung an Maria Sibylla Merian ihre Werke, die Transformationsprozesse behandeln und auslösen. Maria Sibylla Merian (1647-1717) a naturalists artist known for her illustrations of insects and plants. She was a professional artist, painted and published books. Married young, had two daughters. Later left her husband, supported herself, and studied nature in the South American jungle at the age of 52. Her careful observations & documentation of the metamorphosis of the butterfly, she is considered among the most significant contributors to the field of entomology.
